It has actually been quite a while since I did one of these. Well, 3 and a half months, that’s a pretty long time for me I think.
And actually, in those 3,5 months I haven’t used up a whole lot of stuff. I have been using my beauty products of course, but somehow I just didn’t run out of a whole lot of them in this time so it took a while for me to have enough to do a post about these.
But now here I am with a lovely little collection of empty beauty products that I am excited to chat about, so let’s just get right into it shall we?
I mentioned in my hair care routine last spring that I was using the Naïf softening conditioner, and I have since used it up. I really like this conditioner, first of all for the fact that it is sustainable, but also because it is a good product, not too expensive and it makes my hair feel soft and nourished. I have repurchased this and thus am still using it right now.
Is it even one of my empties post if there isn’t a Batiste dry shampoo that I used up? I have yet to find a dry shampoo that I love as much as this one, it does the job so so well and doesn’t leave a white sheen on my hair because this one is especially made for brunettes. I have two backups of this in my collection currently, but when I use those up I kind of want to try out a more sustainable brand. I mentioned Ivy hair care in a recent post, I think I will have to check out if they do a dry shampoo. If they don’t, or I don’t like it, I will go right back to Batiste.
The L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil hair mask is another product that I have repurchased many times, because it is really good and affordable as well. It is also very easy to get at pretty much any drugstore or grocery store, so whenever I unexpectedly run out of hair mask I tend to pick this up. However I didn’t repurchase it after finishing this one because I am trying to go a more sustainable route with my hair care, and the one I have found I really do like. So will I repurchase this L’Oreal one? I plan not to, but if I have to, I definitely will.
I used up the Kneipp mint and eucalyptus body wash. I love Kneipp products and I especially love this scent. I feel like this is a very good affordable brand but one that I always forget about. I won’t repurchase this any time soon because I have a bunch of other body washes to use up, but this is definitely one I really liked.
This Lekker in een potje natural deodorant from The Lekker Company (translated to something like Nice in a jar) is one of the first sustainable deodorants I used, and I really liked it. I am not the most sweaty smelly person (I think), so I don’t need a hardcore deodorant, and this did the job perfectly for me. It is a kind of hard cream texture that you apply with your finger, so not the most practical deodorant in the world but that’s fine. This blue one is scentless, but I am currently using the peppermint & rosemary one that smells amazing. I can definitely see myself getting The Lekker Company products more often, but there is another natural deodorant brand I would like to try as well.
Moving onto skincare. I finished the Lush 9 to 5 cleansing lotion and… I don’t know, I didn’t love this. It was okay, it did the job alright, but I wasn’t blown away by it and so I can’t see myself getting this again. I feel like I haven’t had the best luck with Lush skincare overall, it just isn’t the absolute best in my opinion so I don’t think I will try any more of it.
A product that I did really like, and already repurchased, is the Philosophy Hope In A Jar water cream. I get on really well with the Philosophy products in general, especially the Hope In A Jar line has kind of stolen my hear. Like I said I already got a new jar of this and I am currently using that as my everyday moisturizer. I like how light and refreshing this feels on the skin, especially in the warmer months, but it does definitely leave my skin feel hydrated and loved.
Another Philosophy products that I used up is the Take A Deep Breath night cream. I used a little tester of this first, really liked that, and then got the big jar. This is quite a funny product because it kind of falls back into shape after you use it, so when you open it the next day it looks like an untouched even surface again. I do feel like I flew through this, I definitely used this quicker than the Hope In A Jar one. This is very light and so perfect for summer, but I feel like in the winter I definitely need something a little heavier and so I haven’t repurchased this. Will I remember this for next summer maybe? Yea, I think so.
And lastly, makeup. I used up the L’Oreal Telescopic Carbon mascara, which is a mascara from the same line as my beloved original Telescopic mascara. I didn’t love this as much as the original one though, I feel like it didn’t have the wow factor lengthening aspect that the original has. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t as amazing and so I won’t be getting it again. I am just forever going to stock up on the original Telescopic.
After I don’t even know how many years, I am finally saying goodbye to my Hema eyebrow pomade. I loved this stuff, I used it for a long long time, but it is all dried up now and very old, so I have to get rid of it. This is so cheap, around €4 I think, and so good. The colour, dark brown, is a great match for my hair, and the formula works really well. I haven’t repurchased this because I am now using my H&M pencil for every day and, dare I say it, I think I love that even more than this, but if I do feel like using a pomade again I will definitely think of repurchasing this one.
And lastly, another product that seems to be featured in every empties post I do: the Rimmel London Exaggerate waterproof eyeliner. This is my go to liner and I have been repurchasing this over and over again for many many years, it is just so good. I pretty much always have at least one backup of this in my makeup collection because it is always a staple for me in my makeup routine.
Overall I used up a lot of great products that I can see myself repurchasing or already have picked up again. I feel like I am more and more learning what I do and do not like in my beauty routine, although I also always like to try out something new here and there. I am running out of couple more products again (some perfumes!!) so I think the next installment of “let’s go through my trash” won’t come back in too long.. But I feel like I say that every time..
Thanks for stopping by ❤
