A Few Beauty Bits – Not So Weekly Highlight

I feel like 9/10 of my NSWH posts are about makeup products, but what can I say, I just love me some makeup!

Today I actually have two beauty products to share with you, because I couldn’t decide. One of these I have been wearing almost every day since I got it, and the other I have been wearing just occasionally, but I do think it is an amazing discovery in my beauty routine.

Let’s not ramble on for too long, and just get right into the bits, shall we?

Let’s start with my current favourite lipstick because oh, my god it is so so good. I mentioned a few months ago that I didn’t get on with the Sisley lipstick that I owned. I loved the colour but something in the formula dried my lips out like nothing else. I think I said that I probably wouldn’t buy another lipstick from them, because it just wasn’t working for me. Well, I lied. In this blog post I actually showed you my new Sisely lipstick, the Le Pytho Rouge lipstick in Rouge Miami. This is what I’ve been wearing on my lips almost every day since I got it. The colour is just gorgeous, a definite red and a little bold but not too much. And the formula, oh my, it feel soft and buttery on the lips, it doesn’t dry my lips out one bit, it is long wearing and it is just everything I want in a lipstick basically. The packaging is also beautifully luxurious, gold with the stunning red sleeve, I just love taking this out of my bag to reapply a little bit of this. The one thing that I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with is the bullet. The shape is beautiful, much like you would expect from a lipstick like this, but it does make it a bit more annoying and harder to apply. I think I’ve got it down though. I will definitely continue to wear this for a long long time.

Okay, I think I finally found the perfect drugstore foundation for my skin tone and type. Actually, I am pretty sure of it. The L’Oreal True Match foundation in the colour 1.5 N Linnen and this colour, ugh yes, I think it is the best matching one I have found so far. I feel like have a more yellow undertone but also pretty neutral, like not warm of cool toned, and this just matches it perfectly. I also like the formula a lot. It is covering enough, but my freckles still show through and it doesn’t make my skin look like anything other than skin. It is not too oily, not too dry, and it lasts a pretty good amount of time. I don’t wear foundation everyday because I don’t feel like I need it, but with this I have actually enjoyed wearing it a little more often. It is comfortable to wear, easy to blend, and it is well under €20 which is probably one of the best things. I don’t know how this will work once I get a little more tan in summer, but we shall see. I don’t think I would mind having to get one shade darker.

And then I thought I would also just do a little update on the mascara situation. I mentioned in that last New In Beauty posts that I picked up two mascaras that are a variation of my current favourite, the L’Oreal Telescopic, and that I would keep you posted on my thoughts on them. I finished the original a few weeks ago (featured in my Empties post last Friday) and I now have been using the L’Oreal Telescopic False Lash mascara. I like the mascara, but I don’t love it as much as the original. It gives a lot of volume to my lashes, but not as much length as the other one, which is something I really liked. It is not bad though, just not exactly what I want.

So two definite favourites and one that’s not as amazing, but still alright. I now desperately want to go out and get more colours of that Sisley lipstick!

Thanks for stopping by ❤
