Beauty Wish List – February 2020

After my fashion wish list and my bookish wish list, a beauty edition just couldn’t be left out.

To be honest though, I don’t really do beauty wish lists all that often. I feel that in recent months I have scaled back on my mindless beauty buying anyways, and then if I do really really want something I just go out and get it. However there are still some things that I have been wanting for a while that I haven’t gotten around to buying yet. That’s mostly because I haven’t found the perfect product just yet, but also because a lot of things on my beauty wish list tend to be a little more expensive so I want to make sure I will use it. Some of the things on this list are even things that I don’t need at the moment, but that I will probably buy when I do need them.

Also before we get into the list, these awesome photos are from a shoot I did with Olivia Giovanni in October. She is a photographer who I model for every once in a while to build her portfolio and she is so so good and lovely as well! Go check her out on Instagram on @oliviagiovanniphotography

Anyways, back to beauty products.

The first thing that has been on my list for quite some time now, is a raspberry red lipstick. Something bold but everyday appropriate, with a touch of read and a touch of pink and maybe even a touch of purple. Something nice for summer, but for the rest of the year as well. I have the exact shade in my head, but so far I haven’t found it in stores yet. Although, when I was browsing the Ici Paris XL website the other day, I did see this Sisley lipstick that looks pretty damn close to what I want. I may have to check that one out in real life soon..

I already mentioned this in my perfume collection the other week, but I really want to add Coco Mademoiselle to my collection again. I had that scent years ago, when I was 15 I think, and I loved it so much. And now, when I smell it on other people, I still love it and tend to recognize it right away. It is a slightly more expensive perfume so I haven’t picked it up yet, and I also think I want to bring my collection down to just 6 scents that I love, but when I have worked my way through a few more fragrances (which will be pretty soon) I am definitely buying that one!

Something that I have never really invested in, is good quality makeup brushes. I especially always went pretty budget on my eyeshadow brushes, but honestly the rest are from the drugstore as well. And while good makeup brushes don’t have to be super expensive (I have some from The Body Shop that are great) I do think that the €2-€4 ones are just not so great. This is definitely something that I want to get soon, as I just notice that most of the ones I currently use are a bit prickly on the eyes, and nobody likes doing their eyeshadow with a cactus…

I have a good amount of eyeshadows, mostly in palettes, but I want to add just one more to my collection. The majority of the palettes that I have are pretty cheap though, and not the most amazing quality. And besides, they are quite large. I have one smaller Estée Lauder palette that I adore and wear a lot, especially one shade in it, but it is a little more cool toned. So, very high on my wish list, is a travel friendly everyday warm eyeshadow palette. I would preferably find one with a good range of lights, darks and shimmers so I can go for any look I want with just that palette, a bit like the one I currently use. (which is this one by the way), although one without shimmer would be okay as well. I kind of have my eye on an Urban Decay one or maybe one from Mac, but to be honest I haven’t looked around for this a whole lot yet, so I don’t exactly know what I want yet.

This is maybe a bit of a random thing to put on this list, but once I run out for my current hair products, I really want to try a solid shampoo and conditioner. I have never tried either, so I am interested to see if I like it. The reason I want to give these product a shot is because they are mostly quite sustainable and pretty much packaging free (aside from the little thing they come wrapped in), they seem so much more travel friendly than liquid shampoos and conditioners because they are a lot less bulky, and I feel like they are often a bit more natural. I’ve seen a few in Holland & Barrett that I want to pick up once I run out of what I am currently using, so I will keep you posted on that!

Ending the list the way I started it, with a lipstick. Besides the raspberry lipstick that I would like to pick up soon, I also really want to add a nice bright pink lipstick to my collection. Something very spring and summer appropriate that looks fun. I always feel like most of the true pink lipsticks out there don’t suit me all that well though, so I will have to do some research and some swatching before I buy this one, but I am sure that my shade is out there somewhere. I would preferably get this shade in my favourite YSL formula, or maybe that Sisley one I mentioned before (more on that in Friday’s blog post as well, by the way). But of course there are so many different lipsticks and brands that I haven’t tried yet that are also probably great. They just need to have that exact shade I am looking for.

And that is all that I currently have on my beauty wish list. Some of these things, like the raspberry lipstick and the eyeshadow palette, I am hoping to pick up in the next few months. Others I will have to do a bit more research on before I actually buy something, or I am just waiting to use up other products first. Of course, everything that I do buy will probably be featured here on the blog one way or another.

Thanks for stopping by ❤
