It’s been a few months and I used up a few products, so you know what that means: it’s time for another empties post!
I don’t know why but I always get a bit excited about doing these. It’s kind of fun to look back on the products I used over the last few months and to think about if I liked them enough to use them again, and why I did or did not like them. It’s also interesting to see what products I use time and time again and thus have been really loving, and also to look back sometimes and go “oh I need to get that again”.
This time, I used up mostly products I loved using, and not really any things I did not like.
Before we dive into what is in the photos, I should first mention the things I don’t have here to show you, because they came without any packaging. I used up my Lush Charity Pot body lotion that I bought last December. I absolutely loved it, both the scent and the way it made my skin feel after using it, and I will definitely consider purchasing it again if they still have it. Bonus points to the product, because all the profits (or a large amount of it, I don’t remember exactly) went to charity. Hence the name.
The other “naked” Lush product I used up was their Amazon Primer, a solid facial oil and primer. Again, I loved using it, it made my face feel nice and moisturized without leaving it feeling too oily for underneath my makeup. The one downside to this is that it melted in the heat once, and I was very glad at the time that I had it in a little tin box that you can buy with it (that is reusable), otherwise it would have gone all over my makeup bag.
Now onto the items in the photo. I used up my beloved Givenchy Live Irrésistible eau de toilette, my favourite scent this summer, and I am so sad! This is definitely a perfume I would consider buying again next summer because I have loved using it. It is quite sweet with notes of pineapple, rose and amber. It was a perfect everyday scent for me, not too heavy and strong but still noticeable enough. The one thing I don’t love about this is the packaging, but that’s just a minor detail.
I also used up the Philosophy Purity mineral oil-free cleansing oil, another product I have really loved using. This took my makeup of like a dream and left my skin feeling soft and clean without leaving behind a greasy or oily residue. The smell was also really lovely, which is kind of important for things you use close to your nose, yah know.. The packaging, again, is one thing I did not love as much as the product itself. It got greasy pretty easily and thus tended to oil up my bathroom counter and all the products around it as well. I feel like a pump would have been more practical.
I feel like it has been a while since I used up any The Body Shop shower gels, but this time I did. My last in my shower gel collection, sad times. I absolutely loved this one from the Vineyard Peach collection, is was wonderfully fruity and fresh and made me long for spring and summer. The Body Shop just knows how to do scents and body products, and I would definitely repurchase this.
The last skincare product I used up is the Weleda Intensive Hydrating night cream. I liked this a lot, and would consider repurchasing it, but I wasn’t blown away by it and will just as happily move onto other night creams. The smell is really nostalgic to me though, because my mom has used Weleda products for as long as I can remember. This is a nice and thick cream, so great for the winter months or dryer skin. It might have been a bit too greasy for my combination skin though. I might repurchase it in the future, but I’m not 100% sure.
Moving onto makeup. I have used up a new concealer, the Hema B.A.E. No More Spots concealer. When I first started using this it seemed a bit too dark and orange for me, and I thought it would be a fail purchase. But then spring and summer came, my skin tanned a little, and I started using it as a sort of foundation type product more all over my face than just underneath my eyes, and I kind of fell in love with it. It is easy to blend, gives the perfect amount of light coverage for me, and the colour worked great with my summer tan. Also, this is very affordable, and it is vegan. I would definitely consider repurchasing this again next summer.
By now we all know I love the Rimmel Exaggerate waterproof eye definer, and every 6 months or so I use on of these up. I will forever repurchase this product, as it is very cheap and so so good. I have noticed that there are two different kinds of black, the 262 Blackest Black that I have here and the 261 Noir. I have yet to notice a massive difference between the two colours, but I am sure the one is a bit deeper and darker still than the other.
Something that I don’t use a whole lot, but that I did use up (or, it dried out) is the Hema B.A.E. Deep Black eyeliner pen. I don’t use eyeliner a whole lot, but I did enjoy using this one every once in a while. It is easy to use, nice and black, and it didn’t smudge too easily which is a big plus for me, as I’ve got quite oily eyelids. I would definitely buy this again if I feel the need or want for eyeliner, and tbh I kind of want to start wearing it more. So yea, good product, and cheap as well!
Moving onto to the very expensive, I used up another tube of my DiorShow Blackout mascara. I love this stuff, despite the €35,00 price tag, and I love treating myself to it every now and again. However, I think I have found a very good contender for half the price. In fact, I may even love my new mascara more… But I am not ruling out buying this one again either, because I do love the Dior one a lot.
The last product I have to show you today is not something I used up, but something that is old and unloved and that I am thus clearing out. It is the Catrice Goodbye Pores Prime And Fine blur primer, which is a mouthful, and as much as I liked using the other primer in this line (I can’t remember the name though as it’s been a while since I used that), I do not like this. I just feel like it doesn’t do much, and it leaves my fingers feeling really gross and silicone-y after applying it to my face. I found myself not reaching for it and I’ve had it for well over a year now, so it is going in the trash and I won’t be repurchasing it.
And that is all I have to share today. Like I said, mostly really good products, and one pretty disappointing one, but I can live with that.
Thanks for stopping by ❤
