We went on a trip, during our trip. And here’s what I wore!
For the long Canada Day weekend, my sis-in-law had booked a few nights away in Calgary for all of us. It was so fun to explore a little more of Canada, and not just stay near Edmonton the whole time (although there is so much prettiness to explore here as well!). We didn’t have a whole lot of time sadly, but we still got to see and do some awesome things. Sadly though, both me and G’s sister felt a little under the weather during the trip, but that didn’t stop us from having fun!
Saturday, our first day, was mostly spent in the car. We had a 3,5 hour drive down to Calgary, so I decided to dress comfortably in leggings, a simple tank top (that you can’t see because of the jacket), a chambray shirt as an extra layer and, for the colder evening, my ANWB jacket. We arrived at our rental house in the afternoon, had a walk around the neighbourhood and the park there, did some grocery shopping and them settled into our place. We played games and hung out, and in the evening went to watch the sunset over the mountains.
Sunday was the day we drove to Banff National Park and explored there. Can I just say, even though we only saw a little bit, it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The car ride from Calgary to Banff is 2,5 hours, but with a lot of traffic it took us a bit longer I think. Still, the views from the car already took my breath away. We stopped near Lake Louise, and opted out of the very slow and busy drive up to the lake. Instead, we walked the 3 kilometres up to the lake and just.. wow. That view was amazing, I understand why it’s such a popular spot! Although it is also really busy, which took a little bit of the magic away I think. G and I also hiked up to Fairview lookout, which gives an AMAZING view of the lake as well. For my outfit, I just went for the same look as Saturday: comfort in leggings and layers. I did change into my Nike Pegasus sneakers for the hike, instead of sticking to my Adidas ones.
Monday was sadly our last day in Calgary. But it was also Canada Day, which was so fun to experience, especially because the weather was GREAT. We went into Calgary during the morning, where we explored Prince’s Island park and all the festivities going on there. The rest of the day we spend in the car, driving home for another 3+ hours. To stick to the Canada Day theme (and because it was the only hot weather outfit I brought with me on the Calgary trip) I wore my Mango dress, and added sandals instead of sneakers for an extra cute look. To finish off I wore this cute new belt I got at Goodwill here in Edmonton, which I am absolutely obsessed with. Yay for secondhand finds!
And that’s what I wore for my 3 days in Calgary/Banff National Park. I absolutely loved exploring both places a little bit, and I am hoping I will be able to come back again, as I feel like we didn’t have nearly enough time there.
Thanks for stopping by ❤
