It seems like every month I tell myself I don’t need anything else and that I will stop shopping, but every month I seem to buy more. So it seems like these collective hauls might become a monthly thing..
So today everything I picked up in June and the beginning of July. Some of these are things I got in Germany last month, some of these are things I actually needed. But most of it is just things that I saw and liked and got.
Starting of with something that’s not very exciting, but it is very useful. It’s this water bottle that I got for €2,- and it is absolutely great! Why? Because it has this tube thing inside that you can put fruit or mint or cucumber or something in to give your water a nice flavour. How absolutely great?!
Was I on a book buying ban? I can’t remember… However, I did not actually buy this book. My friend from the States visited me this month and she loves books as much as I do. So when she finished this book she gave it to me, and I am actually very excited to start reading it soon, as I’ve heard many great things about it. A bit out of my book comfort zone – as you know I mainly read YA or New Adult books – but that’s definitely a good thing, since I’ve been trying to branch out anyways.
This book I did buy. But I can justify it because it is part of a series I’ve been reading and I’ve been waiting for it ever since I finished the previous part. I have finished this one already, and I loved it! I definitely want to read more Preston & Child books!!
Moving on to makeup-y bits. Ever since I got my Dior mascara I have been loving curling my lashes, because the effect of the mascara combined with curled lashes is AMAZING. The one I used to use was basically falling apart, so I decided to pick up a new one. This one was a pretty cheap one from Ici Paris, but it does the job 🙂
I also picked up this Hema powder brush. I believe they have all new brushes, and they are amazing! I liked the ones they had before, but they weren’t great. This powder brush though..! It is soft and nice and I like it a lot.
When I saw that Hema had an eyebrow fiber gel I needed to try it! Thoughts: I like it, but I do need to get used to it a bit. It is actually a bit harder to work with than my beloved pencil and eyebrow gel, but it is a great colour for my dark brows, and I do like the effect. It’s just a bit more messy..
I won’t talk about this one for too long because it was in my Current Makeup Favourites post from last week. I picked up this palette in Germany, and I like it a lot. Especially the highlighter gives me life!
I also got this lipgloss in Germany. I never ever wear lipgloss, but I liked this colour so much that I just needed to pick it up. I like the formula and the colour, and it looks really nice layered with a lipliner. However, I’ve decided that I’m just more of a lipstick kinda girl.
Of course I picked up some fashion items too. I cannot remember the last time I bought a belt. I hardly ever wear a belt, but in the last few months I’ve been really wanting one to wear with high-waisted jeans and skirts, or to pair with dresses. So when I saw this one in H&M a few weeks ago I decided to just buy it, and I am so glad I did! I feel like a simple belt with some high-waisted jeans just adds a little something to my outfits.
I got this lovely bra in the sale at Hunkemöller. Now, I’m not a big bra wearer anymore, I definitely prefer bralettes. But for going out to clubs (which I don’t do that often but oh, well) it is quite useful to keep important stuff like my phone and ID in my bra, because I don’t like to bring a bag and the pockets on womens jeans are non-existent. I also feel like I need a bra for when I start my internship in August, because I feel like you can just see the lace-y bralettes a bit through a blouse or shirt, and that is definitely not the look I’m going for at work.
I got this dress at the H&M sale. Mainly for my internship, but I also think it is nice to have a dress that is a bit more fancy, which I feel this one is. I like the colour a lot, and the fact that is has long sleeves. The V-neck in the front makes it a bit more interesting I think, and the length is perfect for me!
And last but not least, another sale purchase, another one I made with my internship in mind. In case you were wondering, I will be starting a secretary internship at a bank in August. Very exciting but also very scary. And because I am planning on dressing like the stereotypical secretary (modest dresses, pencil skirts, blouses and blazers) I felt like I needed at least one pair of simple black pumps. And I found them in the sale at Dune London. I love that brand for shoes anyways (my favourite heeled booties are from there) and these are no exception!
Alright, that was all I picked up in June. I believe.. There will probably be one at the end of July or the beginning of August, because I am sure I will do some shopping this month as well. But I will try not to, I promise!
Anyways, thanks for stopping by!
