Now that April has almost come to an end it is time for my April 5 faves.
No perfume, book or nail polish this month, because I have really been lacking on the reading front (I really need to pick that up again next month otherwise I will never reach my goal of reading 20 books this year!) and haven’t really paid attention to my nails or what perfume I’ve been wearing this month. However, I have 3 lovely makeup favourites and 2 fashion favourites, and all of them I have really been loving in April!
Ever since getting my cardholder I have been giving my smaller bags some love. I have been using this one, that I got from my grandma’s closet years ago, around pretty much all month. It is a perfect size because it fits everything I like to carry around on a day-to-day basis, like my phone, cardholder, keys, mints, tissues, pens, some makeup and even a book or notebook, as long as it is not too big (my 1200 something page edition of The Lord Of The Rings probably won’t fit). It is a very lightweight bag, and I love how it is not just plain black, but has a gorgeous floral print. However, the print is not too loud and in-your-face, so I can still pair it with everything. It just has a very vintage feel.
I wear this baby cross-body most of the time, or just hanging from one shoulder.
I feel like I have been seeing hoop earrings everywhere lately, and I have been loving them as well. I like the simplicity of the hoops, but they’re still a bit of a statement accessory when they’re bigger. And I have been definitely loving the bigger ones. I got this silver pair for around €17 at Lucardi, a jewelry store here in the Netherlands, but I have been seeing them in so many shops lately and I definitely want a bigger pair.
I have been wearing these babies every day that I have been out of the house and wanted to look cute, just paired with some silver knot studs from C&A.
Urban Decay Naked Basics.
The one eyeshadow palette I have been using this month, and probably my all time favourite palette. I have had this one for years (I got it in Paris when I was 17 – almost 18) and have been using it with so much love. As you can see, since I hit pan on four out of the six colours. For me this is just the perfect everyday palette, I got my crease colours, my base colour, my lid colour (I tend to just go very neutral) and a highlighter, and if I want to go a bit more dramatic I have this intense black to play with. Where I have been using my bigger palettes in the past few months, in April I have been reaching for my Naked Basics palette every single day.
Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter.
I am back to the dramatic highlight. Golden, shimmery, in-your-face… I have been loving it this month. And to help me with that, I have been going back to my Makeup Revolution highlighter in Golden Lights, apparently a dupe for Nars’ Albatros.
This highlighter is amazing, partly because of the price because it is less than €4, but also because the pigmentation and formula are so good. And it looks really nice on the skin.
The packaging is not that great in my opinion because the lid has fallen off, but I don’t really mind because the highlighter itself is just so good and gorgeous and I would highly recommend it to everyone.
Diorshow Blackout Mascara.
Last but not least a mascara that costs more than I would ever spend on mascara, but I got if for less than half the price because of offers and vouchers. And I had hoped to not like this mascara as much as I do so I would want to get another tube of this one I run out but I do. I love this mascara. It is so dramatic and black. It holds the curl in my lashes. It gives volume and length. I’m in love.
