A Collective Haul

Sooo…. I did a bit of shopping over the past 2 months. And I thought I’d just share it with you, because why not? It’s a little bit of fashion, a little bit of beauty, a few books and a couple of dvd’s. Some things I actually needed and some things I just wanted, some things I have already used and some I haven’t. And I am going to tell you all about it, right here, right now.

20170128_143810_editedStarting the beauty part off with some bits I picked up in the sale at The Body Shop. I saw this Vineyard Peach Body Scrub and needed it. It is limited edition, sadly, but it is one of my favourite scents and I am so glad they brought it back because I have been looking for this scent for a good year, if not longer. I have used it a few times now and like all the Body Shop body products I’ve tried so far (and trust me, that is a lot) it smells great and works perfectly.

20170128_143918_editedThe Honey Mania body butter. Oh my. Did I say the Vineyard Peach was my favourite sent, well I lied. Out of all the body butters I have tried I love this scent the most. It is just a warm smell, if that makes sence. And do I even need to mention how great The Body Shop body butters are? Didn’t think so.

Yes, after I got the scrub in this scent I needed the shower gel as well. It’s just so good. And those Body Shop sales are just the perfect time to buy stuff there, I believe the have their second sale item 50% off sale every year around December/January (here in Holland at least), so I would highly recommend checking it out next year!

Last Body Shop product, I swear! Just a repurchase of my favourite daily moisturizer, as I am litteraly trying to squeeze out the last bits of my last one these days. I like how this Seaweed one moisturizes my skin (which is combination, by the way) without leaving it feeling greasy afterwards.

One to the makeup, starting off with the things you could’ve already seen in my last post. The first time I used this concealer I wasn’t entirely sure what I thought of it, but now, after a few more times, I have completely fallen in love, it covers my dark circles so good and is very brightening, as the name would suggest. And that for only €4,99!

The Essence eyeliner, also already featured in my last post. Still not very good with the wings, but I will keep trying!

Also this Essence mascara. I haven’t thrown it out yet because I’m stubborn and I want to use it until it’s dried up, but I just don’t reach for it.

Ah, another product from my last post that I have fallen in love with. It is just a perfect mascara for me, not too dramatic but not too minimal either. I will definitely keep using this one!

But now the star of the show. My all time favourite mascara. I found it!! Here in The Netherlands! I know I just bought 2 mascara’s already, but when I saw this baby in a random store the other day I couldn’t help myself, I needed it. I did stop myself from buying 10 at once because I want to make sure it is actually good and not already old of gone off or something, but if it isn’t (and I will try it out very soon) I will go back and I will buy more!

Moving on to fashion. I am not an off the shoulder kind of girl, mainly because of the whole “what bra do I wear?!” problem (I don’t like strapless bra’s) but I love the look on other people so when I saw this one in the sale in Urban Outfitters I decided to just try it on, and it actually looked really good with the black lace bralette I was wearing. And the fabric is just so soft. So for €11 I couldn’t leave it behind.

Similar, similar and similar in a gorgeous colour

The other top I got at UO that day was a bit of an impulse buy. I didn’t even try it on. It was soft and €7 and I just wanted it. So I got it. I don’t know how I will wear it yet, I have now been mainly using it as a pajama top because of the softness, but I will find a way to style it and I will share it on my Instagram when I do.
(Same top in a different colour because the one I have is sold out)

Aaaand yes, I also jumped on the pajama trend bandwagon. I have been loving it on other people, again, and when I saw this one in the sale in Only when I was buying a pair of my favourite jeans I decided to try it one, loved it on me, and had to buy it. I love how the leopard is not too overwhelming, just a bit more neutral. And I have been wearing it ever since. An impulse buy? Yes. But a very good one!

I like to wear it tucked into jeans to make the look a bit more put together

Similar style but different print

So, my favourite pair of blue jeans have ripped. Up on the top, by the belt loops. Also down the side of the leg. So I decided it was time to replace them, with the exact same pair, just new. So here they are, my favourite blue jeans (although the link is to this style in dark blue because I can’t find this one) from my favourite jean brand, ONLY. I love their jeans, they fit me perfectly, they are really stretchy which makes them really comfortable, they have separate waist and length sizes which makes it very easy to find a good fit… I just love that brand for jeans.
Back to this particular pair, for some reason these feel a little bigger that my previous pair, so although I still love these and the fit is still good, I might try the XS as well soon, just to see if those are a little bit tighter (thus a little bit more uncomfortable but skinnier on me).

Lastly in fashion, a lovely blush pink velvet dress. That I found in the sale at Pull & Bear. That I didn’t know I needed until I tried it on. It is so pretty and soft and a bit out of my style and comfort zone, but I have actually been enjoying wearing it, and trying to style it different ways. I think it will transition well into the spring and summer months because of the colour, but layered with long-sleeved tops it also works so well in the colder months as well.

Books & DVD’s:

Let’s start with DVD’s. We don’t have Internet yet in our new apartment (although when this goes up we hopefully do!) so we have had to find other things to watch at night, now that we can’t watch any Youtube video’s or the newest Criminal Minds episodes. So I am on a DVD buying kick. I have mainly been loving those (BBC) crime shows and nature documentaries. Let’s quickly go through them all.
Haven’t watched Happy Valley yet, but it is a BBC crime show so I will probably love it.
Haven’t watched Hidden Kingdoms either, but I assume it will be interesting.
Haven’t watched The Cliff, but it sounds very interesting and a bit different from the rest as it is an Icelandic crime show, and I am very curious to see how I like it.
Have watched Shetland, the first season that is, and oh my god I love it! It is so good, the locations are so beautiful, and the crimes and stories are so well written and well acted and just really good.
Also finished Africa, a beautiful nature documentary series about, you guessed it, Africa.

20170208_152632_editedAnd here we go with books. I still have so many to read but some of them are packed up in boxes so those currently don’t count right? This one is the second book in the Cainsville Trilogy. I read the first one a few years ago and loved it so much, and I have been looking for this one ever since. When I finally saw it in the American Book Center in The Hague I died and went to heaven and then I bought it. I am so excited to start reading it as soon as I finish the book I am currently reading…

…Which is the second book in Ally Carters Embassy Row series that I mentioned in my Books & Coffee post a few weeks ago. I just couldn’t wait so I had to buy it. And I think I like this one just as much as the first one. It is again just one of those very easy to read books which is great in a stressful time like this, with the move and everything. Now all I need is the third part and then I am a very happy girl. Just have to wait until it come out…

Well, I think I have bought enough things for a very long time. I think it is time for me to stay away from pretty clothes, good books, interesting DVD’s and gorgeous makeup. We will see how long I can keep it up… Maybe I just need to stay out of shops altogether…But shopping is just so much fun.
